In his free time, Bill enjoys being outdoors, cycling, travel, ISU athletics, reading and puzzles. Having grown up on a farm near Bondurant, he enjoys his yard and garden, and also his German Shepherds and horses.

As an independent financial adviser, Brian takes great pride in freedom of thought when it comes to investment selection and investment philosophy. He endeavors to truly work for his clients. Brian brings his advisory experience to the classroom. He is a noted speaker and is routinely invited to conduct education workshops for major employers and employees throughout Iowa, as well as for several human resources and wellness professional organizations.

For relaxation, Brian enjoys honing his skills as a pilot, spending time with his family, and participating in many outdoor activities. He resides just outside the Des Moines area with his wife, Kim, and three daughters.

Rachel Wood

Rachel strives to help others feel confident in their financial situation by first understanding their current financial situation. After discussing their vision for retirement, she works to design an achievable, sustainable retirement plan and builds a portfolio to support it. She empowers her clients to create the life they want, on their terms.

Starting her career in the financial planning industry in 2002, Rachel continues to prove she is a great resource of knowledge for her clients and her team. She joined the firm in 2005 and continues to provide sound strategies for her clients. Her passion for financial planning is evident and in 2020 she was offered a partnership role with the firm.

Rachel and her husband, Joe, have two children. In her free time, she can be seen walking around the neighborhood, cooking, camping, and spending time with her family.

Rachel Wood earned the AIF® Designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies in 2016. The AIF® Designation certifies she has specialized knowledge of fiduciary standards of care and their application to the investment management process.

Scott Arnburg

Scott began his career in the financial service industry in 2000, joining Legacy Financial Group in 2010.

With a focus on holistic financial planning, Scott helps his clients to protect themselves against a “financial blindside.” He firmly believes that a systematic approach to wealth management and goal setting are the starting points to their financial success. This attention to detail is one of the ways he helps his clients find comfort and confidence to live their day-to-day lives, and help them work toward their financial goals.

Scott is very active in the community. He and his family have opened their home to numerous children through the Iowa DHS Foster Parent system. Scott serves on the Iowa Supreme Court Grievance Commission, as well as the Board of the Dragoon Trail Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America (Ankeny Ikes). He also serves as the Iowa Section Coordinator of the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA).

He and his wife, Wendy, have been married since 1996 and have two children - daughter, Peyton, and their son, Marcus. They live in Des Moines where they enjoy entertaining family and friends.

Tamara Smith

Joining Legacy in 2018, Tamara brought over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Her areas of experience are retirement income analysis and retirement distribution strategies. Tamara’s in-depth understanding of women’s finances assists with their unique planning needs regarding emotional, physical, and financial wellbeing. She also enjoys volunteering with a variety of organizations, and spending quality time with her husband, Chad, and their two children.

In 2021, Tamara obtained her Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® (CDFA®) certification through the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts™. Tamara is dedicated to assisting divorcing couples with the financial ramifications of a legal settlement. She works with clients individually or as couples to help them avoid the common financial pitfalls of divorce by offering valuable insight into the pros and cons of different settlement proposals, providing clients and their legal team with data to help strengthen their case. Developing comprehensive insight of the short and long-term financial effects of divorce can save valuable money and distress, especially if the process is conducted early in the legal proceedings.

Through his own journey of wealth accumulation and financial planning, Scott discovered a passion to educate, serve and lead others in achieving their financial goals.

Scott joined Legacy Financial Group in 2016, and quickly became an integral part of our team. In addition to serving clients, Scott enjoys partnering with local employers to deliver Legacy's Financial Wellness Educational Programs.

Scott and his wife, Jen, have two sons. His family is active in soccer, spending time outdoors and volunteering at church.

Jodi joined Legacy Financial Group in 2020, bringing over 20 years of purposeful service in the financial services industry. Her focus is providing exceptional client service, and has a passion for building strong lasting relationships by listening and delivering on expectations.

Jodi and her husband, Dan, have three daughters and they enjoy camping, fishing, hockey (Go Iowa Wild and St. Louis Blues!). Jodi is very creative and can usually be found in the kitchen baking up some tasty treats or canvas painting. Not to mention being a dance, cheer, tumbling, and baton mom.

With a diverse background in financial services over the last 25 years, Kathy joined Legacy Financial Group in 2021. Having spent most of her career in financial services, the last few years she has been focused on entrepreneurship with several different businesses. She brings a go-getter spirit and tenacity to her role as a Relationship Manager. Being able to quickly identify what matters most to clients allows her to create a partnership with her clients, that doesn’t just focus on the “what” but nurtures the “why”.

Kathy’s other passions are her son, Tyler, who is entering his senior year of high school; Her dog, Piper, a miniature long hair dachshund; Spending time in the kitchen cooking or baking for her friends and loved ones. Always up for an adventure, Kathy, rarely says no to an invitation to try something new, find a hidden local eatery, go to see live music, or take a road trip with no map!

Nick joined Legacy Financial Group in 2021. He lives in Ankeny with his wife, Brittany and their son, Easton. His favorite hobby is fishing which he tries to do whenever given the opportunity. His 7 years’ experience in Banking developed his skills in building customer relationships and providing the best customer service possible. He is a graduate of DMACC where he completed his AA degree and is currently attending Buena Vista University where he will be completing his BS in Business. “I am excited to join the team and I look forward to getting to know everyone!”
